    Hey!

    Don't snear at this American dish!

    For those with growing up kids, especially teens, may I show you one Super Duper UpScale version of The ham-burger?

    * ground beef 85% lean

    it would be best if you buy Chuck Roast and use your KitchenAid meat grinder for better flavor.

    * sliced cheese (jack, Monterey, cheddar)

    * ripe tomatoes

    * iceberg lettuce or butter lettuce

    * good ketchup (Heinz, DelMonte)

    * with or without bacon strips

    * buns (lightly toasted on a skillet, face down for better crunchiness)

    Here is the trick:

    Lightly form a good size patty with your two hand. Please do not over compress the meat.

    Use your finger to form a hole of about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch diameter in the middle of the batter.

    Butter on a hot skillet; season the batter with just salt and pepper;

    fry each side for about 3 minutes;

    Eater to assemble the hamburger, and the middle hole is for the extra ketchup!

    Kids love it! Adult happy.

      KitchenAid:

      It's even good when you cook the burgers indoor with a heavy cast iron skillet (the one you would take to the camping trip; well seasoned)

      The hole in the middle of the patty allows more heat, more flavor and shorter cooking time.

      But mostly it's a show. Kids love to see something unusual, and ofcourse, extra ketchup holder!

      hahahahahaha
